By the entrance to the beach there are GIANT crabs, like bigger than a fist!  That might not be huge to some people, but in real life that is huge to me!  They really freak me out when they move and I can’t help but jump and squeal… even if they’re just going back into their holes.  Scott, on the other hand, spends half his beach time trying to catch these suckers.  We bought some hot dogs today so we’ll see if we can get any to come out of their holes long enough to snatch a photo.

When we went on a morning walk along the beach the other day, Scott ended up digging up over a dozen of the crab holes.  He really wanted to find one, and then when he did find one he insisted that it needed a friend so he had to go find more!  The ones he found were all pretty little, but we had a good time watching them do their little funny crab walk all over the sand.  Carter was hilarious and would giggle and squeal in delight as we watched them on the sand, but if they came anywhere near him he would start screaming and crying!  Yeah, he definitely takes after me…

We made "Crab Volcano" for them to live on while Scott searched for more. There's one at the top!

A more efficient way to dig of course. Carter and I had to move off to the side to make sure we didn't get a crab accidentally thrown at us!
