After Thanksgiving, our time in Cape Town seemed to just fly by! We feel very blessed, and grateful, that we were able to spend so much time with the wonderful friends we met there before we left. One evening, we went down to the beach with some friends and Scott and Kalev went paddle boarding in the bay! They thought it would be pretty easy, but by the time they got in their wetsuits and made it to the water, the winds had picked up and there were a lot of waves coming through the bay. They eagerly headed out into the water and I had a great time watching and laughing at them from the sand. They seemed to struggle for quite some time to get past the waves closest to the beach with their giant boards and paddles, and the waves in the middle of the bay didn’t make getting up on the boards any easier.
All sunscreened up and ready to go!

While the guys were out paddle boarding, the girls were on the sand with the kids. The kids had fun dipping their toes in the freezing water and digging in the sand, but they mostly loved sitting in the tent eating chips. Carter and Kristen were hilarious together as they shared some Cheetos—Carter insisted on putting the Cheetos in Kristen’s mouth and she thought it was the greatest thing! And being on the beach as the sunset was just beautiful! Definitely a perfect beach day to have as our last in Cape Town.
