Our second day here in Texas we got to go to the Dallas Zoo with my sister-in-law, her three boys, and a group of women and their kids from church. It was fun to take Carter to this zoo because we took him last year so it’s fun to go back and compare pictures, but also to see how he reacted to the animals this time! It turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day with a shining sun and a slight breeze to keep us from getting hot. All of the kids loved seeing the animals, but I think their favorite part was climbing on all of the animal statues haha.
As we were walking by, they started doing the lion presentation so we got to go see the caretakers interact with two female lions up close! They were having the lions do different tricks so they could check their bodies and make sure they were healthy. The kids LOVED seeing the lions that close and active!
This is my newest little nephew, he’s about three months now. Isn’t he adorable?!
I feel like all of the animals we saw were right up close. Many of them were hanging out at the windows which made for a really fun experience.
My favorite exhibit was the giraffes. There were several people in the feeding area giving the giraffes lettuce, so we stood just right outside the feeding area and all the giraffes came over to us thinking that we had food too! They got so close to us and the kids kept trying to feed them dead leaves they found on the ground haha.
Being at the zoo was a great way to spend our time on such a beautiful day!
